The scene: A
mid-town Manhattan French restaurant. |
|
A young, romantic
couple is celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary. The maitre
d' walks over to their table and inquires about their
meal. "Was the fillet mignon satisfactory, Monsieur?",
he asks the gentleman. "Excellent", says the young man.
"And the salmon, Madame?" "Very, very good,
the best I have ever eaten in my entire life." replies the
lady. "In fact, I would love to compliment the chef on
his excellent work and great imagination."
|
The maitre d' pauses for a moment and says he will see
to it immediately. He walks towards the back of
the restaurant, enters the kitchen, and spots the chef.
"Pardon me Chef, but there is a delightful lady who wishes to speak
with you."
|
"But of course, I would
be happy to meet with her," says the celebrated chef.
|
The door swings open, and out walks Phil Mickelson,
wearing his golf clothes, a chef's apron, and
instead of a big, white, floppy chef's
hat on his head, Phil is wearing his customary golf hat. He greets the couple, shakes their
hands, and accepts their compliments with grace and good
humor. "Glad you enjoyed the meal. Hope you come
on back real soon," says Phil to the young couple. |
|
With a quick wink and
another handshake, Phil turns on his heels, and just as
quickly as he first appeared, he returns to the kitchen
and begins work on his next meal. |
