An older lady is walking
down the cereal aisle, looking for her favorite cereal.
Finally, after a few minutes, she finds her cereal. The
good news is her cereal is on sale, but the bad news is
that it's on the top shelf and there are only a few
boxes remaining on the shelf. Furthermore, the remaining boxes
are at the back of the shelf and despite her
best effort, she is unable to reach far enough and high
enough to put her hand on the box. Fortunately, as she
is looking around for help, a store employee comes
walking down the aisle. She stops the pleasant young man
and asks him for his assistance.
"Excuse me, young man,
could you help me?"
"Of course Ma'am. What can
I do for you?"
"My favorite cereal is
right there on the top shelf but it's too far back and I can't reach it."
"No problem, Ma'am. I
will get it for you."
The young man sees the
customer's predicament. Even for him, the cereal box is
located very far back on the top shelf. He tries to
reach for the box, but it is too far from his
outstretched fingers.
"I think this will help," he
says to the customer, motioning to the golf putter he is
carrying on his right hip. He takes out the putter,
gets on his tippy toes, and reaches for the cereal box
with the putter, gently placing the heel of the putter
behind the box, and then slowly pushing it towards him
until he is able to take hold of the cereal box with his
left hand. Tiger puts away his putter, and walks over to
the amazed customer.
"Here you go, Ma'am. Hope
you enjoy it. Is there anything else I can get you?"
"I came just for this,
but thank you so much. You've been very helpful."
"My pleasure, Ma'am. You
have a great day!"
With that, Tiger and the
happy customer start walking towards the end of the
aisle, all the while Tiger twirling his putter and
whistling a happy tune. |
